More than 20,000 people came to Trinidad within a ten-day period to take part in the country's Carnival festivities.
State-owned Caribbean Airlines said an average of 2,000 to 3,000 passengers commuted to and from the country on the airline every day from January 28 to Ash Wednesday (February 6).
Francois Pariseau, director of marketing for CA, was elated that the airline was able to maintain an on-time performance of 96 per cent over the hectic season as numerous flights were added to accommodate the massive influx of travellers.
"It was great, especially considering the weather conditions in New York and Toronto," Pariseau said.
He added that the airline continued to improve its status with the industry and since coming on stream last year, it has recorded a 87 per cent on-time performance.
Caribbean Airlines replaced BWIA as the national airline in January 1, 2007.
Hopefully for 2009 atlantasoca.com will be there to cover the events by both pictures and videos.
